In the fall of 2019 I came to the conclusion that it was time for me to retire from the police department.

I surely didn’t think I’d be transitioning careers in the midst of a pandemic. God has been so very faithful, and has made this a great year, though not the easiest.

Because of the pandemic, we decided to harvest meat chickens and increase our chicken egg production.

This has shown to be really good and has brought a community to the farm that has really been part of the vision my bride and I have had, community on the farm.

Through this year, we envision increasing our egg production and harvesting of meat chickens next year, 2021. If all goes well, pigs will be in 2022.

The goal is to harvest 50 meat chickens a month from April to November. We will need a community of people willing to commit to a monthly harvest. This does not need to be the same group of people every month, but a group of 12 people monthly willing to commit to this harvest.

As time continues, there will be other opportunities to become involved in different aspects of Shiloh Center Farms, and being able to reap some of the harvest.

Until then, we are grateful for what 2020 has brought us, you our community, and we look forward to what 2021 has in store for the Shiloh Center Farms community.
