Without Measure

For months now I’ve been in the book of John.  I find this book so rich.

In John 3:34 we are told: “For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God; for He gives the Spirit without measure.”

God has given His Son, Jesus, His Spirit without measure!

Why is this so great for us?

Jesus tells us in John 5:19: “Therefore Jesus answered and was saying to them, ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner.”

So, in John 14:12, we are told by Jesus this: “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father.”

Why is it so important for Jesus to go to the Father?

Because we are told in John 14:16 by Jesus: “I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever.”

The same Spirit, that God gave His Son Jesus without measure, has come to us, and is with us forever!

In today’s day and age, I do not want to live this life here on earth of my own accord. Under my own power. My own thought process. My own strength.

As Jesus always did what He say His Father do, and say what He heard His Father say, likewise, so I want to do what I see my Savior do and say what I hear my Savior say.

The more we understand His heart and draw closer to Him, He draws closer to us. James 4:8
