“And this I pray,
That your love may abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment
so that you may approve the things that are excellent
in order to be sincere and blameless until the day of Christ.”
This prayer of Paul is captivating. It’s beautiful. Complete.
Love that abounds. Not recklessly, but in knowledge and ALL discernment. Love is foundational in the bible. It is who ABBA is. Without love, we know not God.
The fear of God is the beginning of knowledge.
I pray for myself and for you that knowledge moves from our brain to our hearts.
Here is where this knowledge and discernment does its work. So that we approve of what is good. Holy. Vertically focused. This reminds me of 1 Thessalonians 5:21-22.
To be sincere. To be blameless. This is a heavenly sincerity. This is a heavenly blameless. Not as the world sees, but as our Savior in heaven sees.
The totality of our life is based on the very heart of ABBA. His standards. His desires. His example of love. Knowledge. Sacrifice.
Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.
